This is the pause, the breath you take before battle. He stretches his neck downward in preparation of the coming battle. We have all had this moment, facing the trials and obstacles life can throw at us. We take a deep breath, stretch, and get ready to face the journey ahead of us.
I try to always choose a pose that is a bit unique from the typical pose of an animal. Horses are usually depicted leaping or running. I was drawn to this because I could identify with this moment of powerful silence.
