One of my first sculptures in honor of my Dad, nicknamed “Snail” for his slow and steady pace. They all represent different journeys in our lives. I first used the Art Nuevo designs on these creatures because felt they are an overlooked and understated life, much like my Dad.
While their shape is simple their designs show the playful and creative journey they take. We have all seen the crazy patterns left by snails as they travel on their slow journey. They appear to have movement with help of the polished body fold along their side.
