My love of art started as a child, watching my mom, who was always drawing, painting or creating in some fashion! As a young adult I pursued this love in the form of a BFA in 3D Design (emphasis in sculpture/bronze casting) from Abilene Christian University.  Once completed, I procured employment with Deep In The Heart Art Foundry (now Pyrology), where I fell even more in love with the casting process as head of the patina department.  Now, after almost 20 years of facilitation other artists work, I am carving out the time to pursue my own.

My genre, whether in paint or metal, is directed currently in the study of trees and the many ways they move.  Each tree in our world is unique, with different shapes and personalities.  In ways similar to people, they can be beautiful on the outside – graceful, delicate; but at the same time can also be rotten on the inside.  They can also be knotty and ugly, but made of something strong and resilient.  My fascination seems to focus on the way branches and roots move and interact with each other
